A brother is accused of kidnapping his own sister at knife point, holding her down and injecting her with heroin.
Paul West is facing numerous charges. His sister told police that West forced her to drive from Penn Yan, where they both live, to Greece to buy drugs. And after, she was injected with heroin; she says her brother left her.
West is now behind bars and his friend is speaking out, saying the victim in this case is not a victim.
Eric, who wouldn’t give us his last name, says his friend, 28-year-old Paul West, is being falsely accused.
Eric said, “She shot her own self up. Nobody got kidnapped. She wanted to buy that dope just as much as everyone else.”
West was arrested Saturday after his sister turned him into police. Penn Yan Police say she told them on Friday, her brother held her at knife point, forced her to drive him to Greece to buy drugs, injected her with heroin against her will and then he left her in a parking lot after she suffered a reaction and became unconscious. But Eric says that’s not the case.
Eric said, “She sat in the back seat and shot herself up. We were at the gas station filling up with gas and we turned around and she's turning blue in the face, so we brought her to an ambulance and dropped her off. She sat in the back seat and mixed up three bags of dope and shot it in her own arm. Nobody shot her up. The whole kidnapping thing, the whole thing is a bunch of BS. It is just a story so she doesn't lose her kids.”
News10NBC went to the house where Eric says the victim lives. No one was home. Police would not release any information about the victim.
Penn Yan Police Chief Mark Hulse said, “The problem with heroin nowadays is people are addicted and will apparently go to these extreme measures to get their drug.”
Police say the victim has been released from the hospital and their investigation continues.
