The Amerks will no longer have that home ice advantage. Rochester will head to Chicago for the remainder of this first round playoff series.
The “what ifs” are running through the Amerks’ heads a bit more because of the extended break between game two and game three. The Amerks have five days until game three in Chicago.
Rochester did win game two on Saturday, but it's the first game that the Amerks was still talking about at practice Monday morning.
Rochester had a two goal lead in the third period only to lose in overtime. This could have been a commanding series lead. Instead, things are all even when the puck drops Thursday in Chicago.
Phil Varone, Amerks Team MVP, said, “We should be up 2-0. We let up in the third period on Friday. It is nice, it's only one game, it’s not the championship.”
