News10NBC has learned there have been arrests directly connected to a triple homicide in Rochester. The victims, Jacqueline Simmons, Jeremeliah Simmons and Michael Nelson were found shot to death inside an apartment on Chili Avenue in February.

Sources close to the investigation say they believe the motive behind this was a marijuana drug ring. Sources say three of the six people arrested in March in connection with this case have been charged with murder. The Rochester Police Department will not confirm this.

The six people were arrested first on drug charges. At that time, police say they found the gun used to kill the two mothers and the man.

The Rochester Police Department is directing everything with the murder charges to the Monroe County District Attorney's Office. A spokeswoman for the DA’s office said the investigation is ongoing and they cannot comment further.

The three people charged with murder are expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
