It was a terrifying night for so many. This year marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day. News10NBC learned that Geneseo town officials named May 15 “Whiskey 7 Return to Normandy Day.”
The prized possession of the Geneseo Warplane Museum, a C-47 plane that flew on D-Day, affectionately called Whiskey 7, will depart for Normandy, France on that day to join in on anniversary celebrations.
The crew is still looking for donations to help fund the trip. For more information, click here.
