New York man arrested on assault charges in Geneva

A 38-year-old Jamaica, New York man is facing assault charges in Geneva after an incident Thursday night.

Geneva Police say they were called to Pulteney Street for a stabbing. Investigators say the victim, 38-year-old Christopher Evans, was stabbed multiple times in the neck and throat. He is currently in critical condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.

According to police, Evans was involved in an altercation with Fabian Luvel Jenkins. We’re told Jenkins ran from the scene and barricaded himself in the apartment building where the stabbing occurred. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office emergency response team was called to the scene and Jenkins was taken into custody without issue.
