Wine lovers packed the Rochester Plaza Hotel Saturday evening to enjoy some of the finest wines from around the world while also supporting a special cause.
550 people attended the 14th annual Camp Good Days wine auction dinner. The proceeds are donated to Camp Good Days to help children who are battling cancer.
More than 7,000 award-winning wines from this year’s Finger Lakes International Wine Competition were auctioned off to the highest bidder.
“I made a promise to myself when I started the camp that I didn’t want any family that was already dealing with a child with cancer to have to go through the financial anxiety of letting their child go to Camp Good Days or making a car payment on time,” said Gary Mervis, Founder of Camp Good Days.
Event organizers say they hoped to have raised about a quarter of a million dollars at Saturday’s event, and 100% of the proceeds go to Camp Good Days.
