Three people were injured Saturday night, following a two-car crash in the town of Richmond.

Deputies say they were called to State Route 20A at County Road 37 just after 6 p.m. for the report of a two-car crash.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Krista Rinker failed to yield the right of way when she pulled into the intersection after stopping at a sign on County Road 37. After she entered the intersection, her car was hit by another car driven by 64-year-old Joseph Balcerak.

As a result of the crash, Rinker and a passenger in her car were injured. They were both taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with what deputies say are non-life threatening injuries. Rinker also had two young children in her car. Deputies say both were properly secured in child seats, and were not injured in the crash.

Balcerak was also treated at the scene for a neck injury and released. He had four passengers in his car that he was bringing to their senior prom. Deputies say they were not injured.

Deputies say Rinker was at fault for the crash and will be ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
