Rochester Police say a man who was shot in a liquor store on Chili Avenue Sunday evening has died.
According investigators, 34-year-old Johnny Summers was shot in Henner’s Liquor Store around 7:15 p.m.
“Officers arrived and located a 34-year-old, Rochester male with a gunshot wound to his upper body." said Jeremy Anzalone of the Rochester Police Department. The male was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he later died.
Bernice Miller lives near Chili Avenue and said she thought her son was the man who was shot.
“I ran down here because I heard there was a shooting on Chili, and that the guy lived on my street. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t one of my kids. I’m relieved to know that it wasn’t, but I’m still upset because the man is a neighbor of mine,” said Miller.
Investigators say there are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
