A Seneca Falls man is facing charges after police say he punched and kicked a dog.

Matthew Taylor, 30, of Seneca Falls, is charged with criminal trespass, injuring an animal and obstruction of governmental administration.

Police say Taylor punched and kicked a dog at a friend’s apartment on Fall Street in Seneca Falls on April 26. Police say Taylor was asked to leave, but refused and continued kicking and punching the dog. The dog lost six teeth during the incident.

While being taken into custody, police say Taylor was physically and verbally aggressive with officers.

Taylor was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court. He is scheduled to reappear in court on May 14.
