Wambach, Lloyd called up by U.S. Women’s National Team

Six members of the Western New York Flash have been called up by their respective national teams for games scheduled this month.

Pittsford native Abby Wambach and midfielder Carli Lloyd have been called to play for the U.S. Women’s National Team. They will play a match against Canada on Thursday in Winnipeg.

Wambach returns to the WNY Flash for Sunday’s game against Sky Blue FC, while Lloyd be unavailable to play as she serves the remainder of a two-game suspension.

Samantha Kerr and Lydia Williams have been called up by the Australian Women’s National Team and Sonia Bermudez and Vicky Losada will be playing for Spain Women’s National Team.
