A jury found a man guilty of killing another man in an apartment in East Rochester last August.

James McIntosh was found guilty of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter. Police say McIntosh and another man, Michael Burnett, got into a fight inside the rooming house where they lived on West Commercial Street on August 4, 2013. Police say Burnett was stabbed to death by McIntosh.

During the trial, McIntosh took the stand and claimed that he acted in self-defense; however, the jury found that McIntosh’s actions were not justified.

McIntosh will be sentenced on June 12. He faces up to 25 years to life in prison. McIntosh will remain in the Monroe County Jail until sentencing.
