The Democrat and Chronicle newspaper is reporting that Lt. Governor Bob Duffy will not seek re-election.

Sources tell the newspaper that Duffy announced his decision Wednesday in a letter to Governor Andrew Cuomo.

News10NBC called the governor's office Wednesday night, but they would not comment. We do know in the past, Duffy has expressed interest in returning home to Rochester where he served as Rochester's police chief and mayor.

News10NBC will continue to follow this story and post updates as they become available.
