The Rochester City School Board voted to approve Superintendent Bolgen Vargas's budget for the 2014-2015 school year.
Included in the $782 million budget is full-day pre-kindergarten at all city schools. The budget also includes adding football and lacrosse teams at some schools.
The budget does include the elimination of more than 30 teaching positions and dozens of administrative and support staff positions.
The budget will now go to the Mayor Lovely Warren and Rochester City Council for approval.
The district also said it intends to move forward with the plan of having the University of Rochester take over at East High School. That now has to be approved by the state education commissioner.
