A little girl, fighting for her life will get a boost as students, teachers and community members across Irondequoit will wear orange today. It’s in honor of seven-year-old Avrie who is battling leukemia for the second time.
Right now, Avrie is at Golisano Children’s Hospital and will be in intensive treatment for the next six months.
Students at schools in West Irondequoit have pledged to wear orange to support Avrie. It's the official color of the fight against leukemia.
Avrie's family has set up a Facebook page where you can learn more about her fight against the disease.
