The GM Foundation of Rochester donated thousands of dollars to three local charities.

The three local charities are the United Way, The School of the Holy Childhood and Junior Achievement.

This is part of the annual Plant City Grant Program, in which the foundation gives $1.7 million to charitable groups across the nation.

Neal Evans, GM Rochester Operations, said, “The community supported us in a lot of hard times and it's really great that we're able to give back to the organizations. These are organizations that our employees are very active with and so to have the GM Foundation also feel that they're very good organizations, it really, really is a good thing."

In total, the GM Foundation donated $20,000 to local charities.
