Three local fire departments to receive federal funding

Three local fire departments are receiving federal funding.

Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced $212,420 in federal funding for the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department, the Bushnell Basin Fire Association in Pittsford and the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department. 

The Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department in Canandaigua will receive $145,796 to purchase new FCC compliant radios.  The Bushnell Basin Fire Association will receive $37,506 to purchase 47 new breathing air systems and the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department will receive $29,118 to construct training mazes that teach firefighters entry and exit strategies and how to use breathing apparatus.
