The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says a teen girl was arrested after they say she cut the tail off a horse at a farm in Naples.

Deputies say the seventeen-year-old girl cut the tail off the horse at Cheshire Ridge Farm on Monday, and was arrested Friday night. She is currently charged with cruelty to animals.

However, a friend of the girl contacted News10NBC and says that the girl only cut some hair off the tail, not the actual tail.

She was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in court at a later date.
