A man was hit and killed by a train near the Fairport Little League fields.

Emergency crews were called to the tracks for the deadly crash near Lyndon Road in Perinton around 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. An eastbound Amtrak train is involved.

The train was stopped on the tracks for about three hours. One passenger on board says they were hardly told anything. Some are afraid they are not going to make it to work Tuesday. The Amtrak train left Illinois and was headed to Albany. The final destination is New York City.

The train stopped right before the Lyndon Road Bridge, but that’s not where the victim was hit. We’re told the man was hit a half-mile west near downtown Fairport.  He died from his injuries.

Right now, police are not giving any information on how the man was killed and they are not releasing the name of the victim.
