Remembering an historic moment in history. Right now, crews are putting the finishing touches on Whiskey 7 as crew members prepare to take-off for Normandy this week. Whiskey7 is the last known air worthy C-47 from the 18th serial on D-Day.

A five member crew including three pilots will depart on Thursday destined for Normandy, France to mark the 70-year anniversary of D-Day.

The cargo plane is stationed at the Geneseo War Plane Museum where volunteers have been working throughout the last year to restore it to its original condition.

Whiskey 7 is scheduled to leave at 2 p.m. on Thursday from the museum. News10NBC’s Scott Kilbury will have live reports on Thursday beginning at 12 p.m.

The public is also invited to see the event.
