The community will get a chance to ask questions about the changes to a busy road in Brighton. A public meeting will be held Thursday to discuss construction on Monroe Avenue between Allen's Creek Road and Clover Street near the I-590 ramps. The meeting will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Brighton Town Hall Auditorium on Elmwood Avenue.

The goal of the $2.5 million construction project is to make the road safer by adding new traffic signals, as well as sidewalks and bike lanes. The intersection at I-590, along with the on and off ramps, will be changed to create easier access to the highway.

While officials say much of the work will take place during overnight hours, commuters can expect daily lane closures throughout the summer.

The project is expected to be completed by October.
