Red Cross officials say assistance efforts will continue for residents this weekend in Penn Yan and across Yates County.

They say the shelter at Penn Yan Academy is still open for those without a place to stay due to the flooding. Water, snacks and hot meals are available for those affected, as are caseworkers that can help affected families develop recovery plans.

Vehicles have also started delivering clean-up kits and water directly into affected areas in Penn Yan. A command post will also be set up on Elm Street near Main Street in Penn Yan to distribute kits and water. A caseworker will be on-site as well.

You can also pick up clean-up kits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gowanda Fire Hall, 230 Aldrich Street and the Randolph Fire Hall, 70 Main Street.
