The Rochester community came together on Saturday to raise money for the Greece baby that passed away at the beginning of May.
Rileigh Daniels was the 17-month-old baby who died after her family says she was shaken and suffered a seizure. Her mother’s boyfriend, Cory Favata, has been charged with murder after police say he acted recklessly and caused the baby’s death. Favata has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Dozens of people came together at the Straight Home Inn to raise money for Rileigh’s family to pay for her funeral expenses. Organizers say they were overwhelmed by Saturday’s turnout.
“I hope it brings some kind of closure, some kind of peace, some kind of relief that they’re not alone,” said Sharon Williams of the Straight Home Inn.
That was also the message bikers from the Privately Independent Motorcycle Club wanted to send, that Rileigh’s family is not alone.
“Support one another, that’s what we do. She was a very beautiful little girl that died tragically, and she didn’t deserve that,” said the preacher of Privately Independent Motorcycle Club.
