Did another vehicle get hit by a BB on a busy Rochester-area road? That is the question police are trying to get an answer to. Late Wednesday afternoon, another driver said his van’s window was hit while he was behind the wheel.

This is now the ninth report of a vehicle being hit that police are investigating. The latest incident happened at Jefferson Road and Clover Street in Pittsford. That’s on the other side of town from the other investigations on I-390 and I-490. But police say they are investigating what happened in Pittsford as if it is the same thing that is happening on 390 and 490.

Investigators can't rule anything in or out and they say it is likely a BB pellet or small rock that is causing this damage.

Gene Salesin said, “I was here and was wondering what was going on, why they closed off Jefferson Road.”

It was a confusing situation for drivers Wednesday afternoon, but it was a very scary situation for one driver in particular.

Billy Burger said, “I felt the glass hit me on my face. I looked down and could see a little hole in my window.”

Billy Burger says he was on Jefferson Road when something shattered his driver's side window.

Burger said, “This is like the ninth one that happened. It is pretty scary. It could have hit me in the eye. I could have lost control, swerved over in the other lane and caused an accident.”

Burger isn't the only one who thinks it is scary situation.

Dan Kocman said, “That's crazy, I mean I had BB guns growing up and to aim them at a car or something like that is just stupid.”

Investigators have not said it is a BB pellet, only that it is a possibility.

Drivers say they won’t avoid this area of Pittsford, but they will just keep a closer eye out for anything unusual.
