No motorized boats on Honeoye, Canandaigua Lakes

Created: 05/22/2014 12:27 PM WHEC.com

No motorized boats will be allowed on Canandaigua and Honeoye Lakes in Ontario County. The sheriff, Phil Povero, says this will go into effect on Friday at 8 a.m.

We are told both lakes remain at higher than normal levels and although boat traffic has been minimal, increased boat traffic over the holiday weekend could create a hazardous situation.

Officials say barricades will be placed at the public boat launches including sites in Yates County.
