A Greece man is recovering this morning after being shot during what police call an attempted robbery on Rochester's west side.

The investigation revealed that the shooting victim and an Irondequoit man were attending a party at a home on Locust Street.

Police say that around 3 a.m., two suspects entered the home's open door and confronted the men. Police say the suspects forcibly took some personal property from the two men. During that struggle, police say shots were fired. The 33-year-old Greece man was shot in an extremity; police say that injury isn't life threatening.

Police tell us he was transported to Strong Hospital, treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
