Does the upcoming holiday weekend have you wanting barbecue?

The seventh annual Roc City Rib Fest at Genesee Valley Park starts this weekend. It opens to the public at 5 p.m. today and runs through Monday, May 26.

More than 100 competitors from across the country will grill up their best ribs for a chance to win a piece of more than $22,000 in prizes.

“We are excited to start the next chapter of Roc City Rib Fest at Genesee Valley Park, right across the parking lot from our host charity, Golisano Children's Hospital,” said Brian Wemett, Roc City Rib Fest co-founder. “Now more centrally located, this move allows us to bring Rochester's favorite BBQ and music festival closer for more to enjoy.”

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for children under the age of 12. One dollar of each ticket sold will go to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital.
