A 39-year-old Rochester man is facing a slew of charges stemming from a traffic stop in Livingston County.

Deputies say they tried to stop Franklin Gay in Avon and in Livonia but he sped away from them, sometimes hitting triple digit speeds. Investigators say that’s when they called off the pursuit. Deputies say they later located Gay after he ditched his vehicle and had tried to run away on foot.

Gay is charged with DWI, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana, reckless driving, speeding and numerous other traffic violations. He is being held in the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail.
