Shooting on Weaver Street leaves man in critical condition

A 27-year-old Irondequoit man is in critical condition after a shooting on the city's north side.

Rochester Police say Kevin Turner showed up at Rochester General Hospital around 8:40 p.m. Monday after police say he was shot in the lower body. Turner was taken into surgery and  doctors say they expect him to survive.

Investigators say Turner had been shot in front of a home on Weaver Street near Joseph Avenue. Police are still investigating and urge anyone with information to call 911.
