Created: 05/27/2014 12:08 PM WHEC.com

The motorized boat ban on Canandaigua and Honeoye Lakes has been lifted.

Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero tells News10NBC the levels for both lakes continues to recede and runoff has significantly decreased.

Boaters are advised to continue to watch for lake debris which floats below the surface for the water. Officials are also asking boaters to reduce speeds near the shoreline in order to decrease wakes and lessen the possibility of shoreline erosion.
