NY lawmakers unveiling report, bills on heroin use

State lawmakers will be releasing a report on heroin and opioid addiction after conducting statewide forums on the subject.
The Senate's Joint Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction will be releasing a report on Wednesday on heroin's rise in New York and make recommendations to curb use.
Members of the Republican conference and the Independent Democratic Conference- a group of five Democrats who control the Senate with the Republicans- have held 18 public forums and are unveiling their suggestions alongside substance abuse experts.
Senate Democrats have already introduced legislation to combat the heroin scourge.
