Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced that Rochester received a national manufacturing community designation. This means the Rochester and Finger Lakes region will receive preferential status for local economic development grants.

Senator Schumer says this could help advance Eastman Business Park, create new manufacturing sites, train workers and help local manufacturers expand.
