A state senator is calling on a major company to bring hundreds of more jobs to Rochester.

Right now, Valeant is considering whether or not to close its Bausch and Lomb plant in Ireland where 900 people work.

In a personal call Friday, Senator Schumer urged the company's CEO to relocate those jobs to the Rochester plant. Schumer later said he's confident the city has a great shot at adding those jobs if Bausch and Lomb does decide to close the Ireland plant.

A decision could be made by mid-June.
