The Irondequoit community is coming together to help a little girl who is battling cancer for the second time.

Avrie Sinesiou was first diagnosed with cancer in July 2011. She battled the disease, but in April 2014, her family had learned that her cancer had returned. Avrie, who has leukemia, will undergo a bone marrow transplant.

The community is helping the family with medical expenses by hosting an event on Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Titus Tavern on Titus Avenue. There will be food, entertainment and kids events.

All proceeds will benefit the Sinesiou family.
