The 70th Anniversary of D-Day is just days away and the "Whiskey 7" is ready to return to Normandy to mark the historic invasion.
The plane, which took off from the Geneseo Warplane Museum last month, is at Ramstein Air Force Base ready to make its trip. The plane will fly over Normandy on Friday; 70 years after hundreds of thousands of allied troops stormed the beach to fight Nazi Germany in World War II.
On Monday, the base hosted some of the veterans who were a part of the historic invasion.
William "Bill" Prindible, D-Day veteran, said, "We were all 18, 19, 20 years old and we spent nearly two years getting ready for this. It was a very important part of our lives and you just don't wipe that out of your being or memory.”
