It was a big day for Boy Scouts. On Tuesday, the Seneca Waterways Boy Scouts of America Council opened its new headquarters.

The facility is located on Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road. It includes space training and a scout shop.

Leaders say the move helped to bring the council together in one large facility instead of being split around the area.

Stephen Hoitt, Seneca Waterways Boy Scouts, said, "I think it's important to have to serve as a great training piece as well as a resource for members to have a great quality program."

Organizers say one in five boys take part in programs offered by the Boy Scouts.
