Firefighter injured in incident on Linden Street

A firefighter was rushed to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle. Police say it happened while he was responding to a possible emergency.

Officials tell us 41-year-old Sean Balantic was on the scene of a smoke alarm on Linden Street. We’re told he was working to get equipment out of a fire truck when he was struck by a car.

Balantic suffered a deep leg bruise and will be recovering for a couple of week. He's been with the department for more than six years.

No one is in custody in connection with the crash.
