State police say no one has been injured after a Megabus blew a tire and caught fire while traveling on the Thruway in western New York.
Troopers say the bus was carrying 18 passengers when the fire started as it traveled in Interstate 90s's eastbound lanes around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Chautauqua County town of Portland, 45 miles southwest of Buffalo.
Police say all on board were able to get out of the bus unharmed before flames engulfed the vehicle. Troopers say the bus was totaled.
One eastbound lane between exits 60 and 59 remains closed Wednesday afternoon as crews prepare to remove the charred bus from the scene.
Coach USA, the Paramus, New Jersey-based owner of Megabus, says the bus was headed from Cincinnati to Buffalo.
