Rep. Slaughter announces $2.9 Million in federal grants for Rochester Airport

Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter announced that $2.9 million in federal grants funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation were awarded to the Greater Rochester International Airport. 

The first grant, worth nearly $2 million, will be used to make improvements to the pavement on Taxiway “A”. The second, worth nearly $900,000 will fix the lighting system on Taxiway” A”.

Since 2005, Rep. Slaughter has helped secure roughly $26 million in safety improvements to the Greater Rochester International Airport, including $2.77 million in funding just last year for taxiway rehabilitation, runway safety and a new Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicle.
