Three airports in our area are receiving nearly $2-million for infrastructure and facility upgrades.

The Penn Yan Airport will receive $201,330 to conduct an airport pavement study for infrastructure upgrades and $198,000 for the purchase of snow removal equipment. The Dansville Airport will receive more than $1-million for runway, taxiway and terminal apron rehabilitation as well as $36,000 to buy the rights for surrounding properties and the Canandaigua Airport will receive nearly $300,000 for snow removal equipment to keep the runway clear and safe for flight during winter months.

The funding was announced Friday by U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand
