The fire department says a restaurant fire near Manhattan's Rockefeller Center has gone to a third alarm but no injuries are reported.

The FDNY says the fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. in the basement and ventilation system of the TGI Friday's on 5th Avenue, between 48th and 49th streets.

Kirby Gargantiel says he saw thick black smoke near the six-story building. A photo on Twitter showed flames shooting from the roof.

An FDNY spokesman says the flames were likely coming from a vent.

The city warns of traffic delays in the area. Transit officials are rerouting 11 bus routes.

Records show the building has kitchens in the basement and on the fourth floor. A dining area occupies the 1st through 3rd floors, with offices on floors 5 and 6.
