Rochester man shot in leg on North Street and Roycroft Drive

A Rochester man is recovering after police say he was shot in the leg.

Officers were called to North Street and Roycroft Drive around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. 

The victim, 29-year-old James Avery IV, told police he was sitting on the sidewalk when he heard shots. He then told police he felt a burning sensation in his leg. He was taken to Rochester General Hospital. Police say his injury isn’t life threatening.

No one is in custody. Police are still investigating.
