Some of the best girl golfers in the world have gathered in Rochester for the Rolex Junior Championship.

Christine Schmitt knows a thing or two about beating the best. The Mercy senior is a state champion. The Rolex Junior Championship at the Country Club of Rochester is a whole new level of competition. A level that Christine is proving she belongs.

Schmitt is headed to Georgetown in the fall. She will try to walk onto the team. Schmitt finished seven over 77.

The lone golfer in the red after Round One is Elizabeth Wang, of California. Wang made six birdies, shooting a 68.
