The deadly shooting Tuesday at a high school in Oregon is the 74th school shooting since the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. That’s an average of 1.3 shootings per week in the U.S.

What do you think? Are you concerned something like what happened yesterday could happen at your child’s school?

Authorities in Oregon identified the victim of yesterday’s shooting as 14-year-old Emilio Hoffman. Police say Hoffman was killed by a teen gunman at Reynolds High School. The gunman also injured a teacher before he likely killed himself.

In an interview on Tumblr, a social media site, Tuesday, President Obama said his biggest frustration so far as president is that American society hasn't been willing to take steps to strengthen gun control. He said there's no place else in the world where mass shootings are a once-a-week occurrence and that he country must do some soul-searching.
