A post office in Brockport will now be named after a local, fallen hero.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter announced Wednesday that legislation to name the post office after Nicholas Reid was signed by President Obama earlier this week.
Reid, who was from Brockport, was killed in Afghanistan in December 2012 by an improvised explosive device. He received numerous medals, including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. Reid was just 26-years-old.
