Local agencies receive federal money for new equipment

Helping those who help you in an emergency. Some of your next tax bill will be going to fire departments and emergency squads to buy new equipment.

We're told the Canandaigua Emergency Squad will receive more than $445,000 for new radios for the Canandaigua, Phelps and Naples Fire Districts. While the Fishers Fire District will put more than $160,000 towards new breathing masks for firefighters.

Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand made the announcement Wednesday.
