The use of genetic testing is increasing dramatically and is allowing for more personalized medical care.
The Breast Center at Rochester General Hospital has been given early access to a new genetic test called Myrisk. The test helps identify high risk for eight common types of hereditary cancers. Those cancers are breast, colon, ovarian, uterine, prostate, pancreatic, gastric cancers and melanoma.
The new test formally launches in July.
