It has been a whirlwind tour for a Rochester man who will be returning from France tonight.

John Foy is a D-Day veteran who sat near President Obama during last week's 70th anniversary ceremonies in Normandy. Foy said his life was changed forever while fighting in the Battle of the Bulge from December of 1944 to January of 1945.

He said he wanted to return to Normandy to honor the soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defending the United States.

Foy is a native of Greece.  Three other local World War II veterans also made the trip.

Whiskey 7, the WWII war plane that also made the trip back to Normandy, will return to Geneseo this Saturday.
