It has been quite a ride for two McQuaid High School students after they took first place in the Young Entrepreneur’s Academy Competition earlier this week.
The competition was held at America’s Small Business Summit in Washington D.C., and the teens, Riley Benner and Luke Zaremski, setup a company that makes and sells reversible neckties.
Those neckties are now for sale at Parkleigh.
On Saturday morning, the boutique held a launch for the duo’s company called Phoenix Haberdashery Neckties.
“It’s just like any other person who owns their business. They can make decisions that either make or break the business, and I’m on my own now, flying solo. We’re going to see what happens. I definitely intend to develop and grow. Parkleigh is definitely a great start,” said Benner.
In addition to the ties being sold at Parkleigh, the boys will each receive a college scholarship and an audition on the TV show “Shark Tank.”
