The trial for the Rochester man charged in connection with killing two men on Central Park in June 2013 and injuring a police officer began Monday.

Ralph Strong Junior is facing two counts of first-degree murder, attempted aggravated murder of a police officer, assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to cause serious injury and reckless endangerment.

Police say Strong shot and killed 31-year-old Jahmia Singleton and 27-year-old Reggie Johnson outsider a nightclub on Central Avenue on June 24, 2013. Three days later, police say they spotted Strong and tried to pull him over. That’s when police say he opened fire on Rochester Police Sergeant Flamur Zenelovic, injuring him.

Strong’s sister, Lawana Strong-Minter, has been charged in connection with this incident. Police say she helped Strong hide from police following the double homicide.
