A 28-year-old woman is facing alcohol and drug charges after her car rear-ended another vehicle at a toll plaza on the New York State Thruway.
State police say Cayleigh Delforte of Canandaigua was driving Monday evening with her five-year-old son riding in the back seat when her car hit another vehicle at Exit 44 near her hometown.
Troopers say she failed field sobriety tests at the scene and also was determined to be impaired by narcotics.
Delforte was arraigned Tuesday in Canandaigua City Court for aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, driving with ability impaired by drugs, and endangering the welfare of a child. She was being held at Ontario County Jail on $5,000 bail and did not yet have an attorney.
There were no injuries, and the boy was turned over to a family friend.
